NewYear Resolutions and Free Printables

As the year comes to an end most of us find ourselves making our year end resolutions list, the things we want to acquire, the pounds we want to loose, the places we want to go, how organized we are going to get and where we would like to be by the end of the following year. RIGHT!. Then half way through the year cause we live in such a fast paced world we get disappointed.  We have not been able to accomplish some of the things on our expectations list, well this year I have decided to do it differently. I have made a list of the things I did do this past year as small as they may be and be grateful for them. As for the coming year I hope to enjoy everything I have right now cause more is not necessarily better. Just think whatever you’ve got right now even if you think its bad it can always be worst so I believe if you love, enjoy, and are grateful for what you have now. Everything else that you accomplish big or small even if its nothing is just icing on the cake. I laugh cause my mom who is a very silly person by the way, I would ask her how are you? She always responds if I am here talking to you I am ahead of the game.

Thank you for a wonderful year, I wish you the best for the next and hope you continue to follow.

I leave you with a poem that my mom gave me a long time ago. She has been reading it for years, she keeps it on her computer desk and she also read it every morning while she drinks her coffee. Due to morning schedule I read it at night. Sorry if it’s a bit wrinkled I hope you enjoy it.  Below you will also find FREE printables from Paper and Pigtails.

Enjoy!!

Xo,

Maylene

Again sorry for the wrinkle paper. (Very old)

Wishing for SNOW {Our Christmas}

Wishing for snow.

Every year we do Christmas Eve at my moms house. This year we did it at our house once again,  What a surprise right? LOL we had a wonderful time and my kids enjoyed it to the fullest. They ran around, played on their swing set, and ate lots of sweets.

We live in Miami, FL so our weather is no where near what the North is going thru, but we do wish that we had a little snow, especially on Christmas. So we decorated our table with rolled snow and snowmen.
This all started when my mom and I went to shopping and found Charlie our snowman.
Isn't he adorable? I just fell in love with him.

After taking Charlie home we decided to stay with Charlies color scheme. I immediately contacted Lynlee from Lynlee's Petite Cakes for a smaller version of Charlie, made of  fondant. Her work is fabulous and beautiful as you can see below.

While looking around on Etsy for my daughter's Christmas outfit. I bumped into Julie from Cakes and Kids. I was so impressed by all the designs she had. I wanted a small stocking banner counting down the days till Christmas and she had what I needed.

The stockings had a number one and the number twenty four glittered on the them.

One day left till Christmas!!!

When you walked out to our patio this was the image you saw. I was so excited to see what my kids, family, and guest faces were going to be. They loved it and I was pleased.

Our Lollipop banner was something different than what I normally do. I came up with this idea when I stumble on these lollipops in our Christmas boxes. It came out wonderful!

Our Snowman Hat utensil holder.

While at the supermarket I noticed the cover of Woman's Day magazine and saw an idea I liked. Their's was in red and white. It was so inspiring however, we wanted our own twist. So our color were in bright pinks, aqua, red, and green. We also added the word JOY and small Elf's.
It's not easy to make, but it was fun. Our straws and Elf's came from Hey Yoyo.

Our centerpiece for the  dinner table was hand made. The big white poof pom poms are normally hanging tissue pom poms. We decided to use them a little different.

Hand made food labels

We wrapped our cupcakes in our hand made wrappers that had a snowflake design. They were delish.

Some little decorations on our dessert table.

I had seen something similar on Pinterest. They had Reindeer's instead, but we liked the idea and thought it would a nice  to make snowman marshmallow.

Hope you had a wonderful time celebrating your holiday seasons with our loved ones.

Happy New Year!

I wanted to take this time and say thank you to all, family, friends, clients, fans and vendors. I can't believe that once again we are at the end of the year. Oh how this year has flown by.

I'm very grateful to my family and friends for helping me in all of my daily madness and also in helping our business to continue to grow to what I have envision it to be.

To our clients and fans without your support our business would not be successful. Thank you for giving us the chance to make your day extra special with our designs.

Last but not least are the vendors I speak to.

This is where I get some of my inspiration from. Throughout the year we have developed friendships over the Internet. These ladies inspire me with their work, and they go beyond their designs to help out. Thank you for your friendship and support. I'm truly grateful to have met these and other wonderful ladies.

Here are some of my favorite peeps and their designs.

Hope everyone has a wonderful and Safe New Year.

May 2012 be a Happy, Peaceful, and Prosperous year for everyone.

Last Minute Christmas Decoration/Gift Ideas

Wow REALLY only 2 days left till Christmas? Were has the year gone? Just like everyone your probably trying to get your last minute shopping done. As well as getting your decorations ready for Christmas.

Hopefully we can help you with some small ideas. I LOVE Mason jars, but sometimes if you have to buy a few they can get costly. Take a look at your spaggetti jars. Some have a pretty nice shape or design. Don't throw them out rinse and clean them! You can reuse them by adding a hot chocolate recipe or a cookie recipe.  The possiblities are endless. Look how cute these are??

Cookie Recipe

Hot Chocolate with Marshmellows

You can add ribbon, dolie, material, and a small tag with the recipe. There's plenty of different ideas one can do with these jars. So next time your looking at your spaggetti jars think of what we said. Rinse and wash {Wink}

These would be adorable to give out for your gathering.

Aren't they cute?

There also ornaments that you can decorate with your kids and give them as gifts. Grandparents love handmade goodies from there grandkids.

Glitter filled ornaments or

Recycled old Light bulds. These are just darling? I think my kids will get a kickout of painting light bulds.

Your probably planning your meals and cleaning all of your table wears right? You probably can't wait to set up your tables with all of your decorations and foods. This year I'm in love with all the different Christmas Sweet Tables that have popped out this month. Here are a couple of my favorite table scapes. There's just so many beautiful tables that its just hard to pick just one.

I do hope I get to share with you all our Christmas table and decorations around our home. My daughter has been sick. {Sad face} It's hard to get the house ready, finish the decorations, wrap up gifts, and work at the same time.

Hopefully this post has inspired you both in small gifts and table decoration.  If you have any pictures that you would like for us to share with your Holiday decor please send them to Maluboutiques@yahoo.com

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!!

Maylene

Inspirational Wednesday (Small craft room/organiztion ideas)

I've been trying for a very, very, very...... long time to organize my office. Some how it's not done. Something or another always comes up. I do wish I had the time do redo it like some of the images I have saved. I would like to hand pick some of the ideas I see in each of the pictures and put them to use in my room.

The baskets and the folded material in the draw.

I would love for my stamps to be seen like this.

I would just love a room like this. The white is just so refreshing and the blue ceiling is just wonderful. The chandelier is an absolutely enchanting touch.

I just love how organized it looks.

Would love to place this in vinyl letters in my office.

Of course I love this one because of the pink and for being organized, but really for the pink and the ruffled chair. {wink}

If your looking for some inspiration I do hope these images gave you some ideas for your craft rooms. If you need or would like to see more ideas of mine you can always check our inspirational boards on Pinterest. Do you follow us? If not you can start now click here.

How does your craft room look like? I would love to see some picture. You can email them to maluboutiques@yahoo.com

When ordering our Christmas cards this year I went on Tiny Prints. I saw the ornament Christmas cards and fell in love with it.  They have such a variety that it is hard to choose from. Here are some samples of the ones they have on there site.
Aren't they just beautiful? What type of Christmas card did you order this year?
