Desserts Recipes

Comstock Cake Trifle

I love having small and cozy get together. I have these wonderful tiny wine glasses and couldn't wait to use them. Honestly who doesn't like having or seeing mini desserts? They always look so darn cute! Well since my cake didn't turn out the way I had planned in my brain I figured well what else can we do?

I decided to look on Duncan Hines. They
build a simple fruit trifle in a fancy glass. Well needless to say everyone was impressed.

You will need the following.

 Ingredients

  • 1 box Duncan Hines French Vanilla cake mix
  • 1 can Comstock or Wilderness Cherry Fruit Filling
  • 1 container Cream Cheese frosting

Baking Instructions

  1. Bake the cake as directed on the box. Let it cool and crumble it into bite-sized chunks.
  2. Fill a glass with some cake, a few spoons of frosting and fruit filling.
  3. Serve and enjoy!

Have a delightful day.

Storybook Bookmarkers

I love when our customers ask us to design something NEW and original. The baby shower theme was based on storybooks, such as Corduroy Bear, Hungry Caterpillar, Goodnight Moon, Curious George.
How cute and innovative are these favors? Afterwards like a lot of people do instead of throwing them away these favors you can reuse them.

Hope you like theme. Soon they will be available in our shop. Have you passed by our site lately? Check it out more to come. Malu Boutiques.

Our Thanksgiving

Before setting up all the yummies!

After setting up all the yummies!

Glazed Pears. These were absoluty delish!!

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays.  I enjoy all of the holidays, some more than others. Every Thanksgiving, we have family and friends come over and join us for dinner and to give thanks. On this day our family gets together to cook different dishes.  Everyone has a special food or item to bring to our Thanksgiving feast.
We had so much fun planning what was going to be on the menu and how our table was going to look like. When planning our table decoration this year my mom and I decided to go a little different.  She had a tablecloth from when she had her own store; it had fruits with jewel tone colors. This is the color scheme we went for this year.
Our table had golden square plates, golden wine glasses, harvest napkins and walnut napkin rings. The napkin rings were hand made with glitter walnuts, acrylic purple and yellow leaves, with a pheasant feather.  The centerpiece had different types of squash and small pumpkins. When looking for printables, the ones we found that would match our style for the night were from The TomKat Studios. We used their menus and their food labels.
The dessert/coffee table had a golden frame with the banner placed inside saying “GIVE THANKS”.  I picked Give Thanks as the banner this year, because we have had many different obstacles to overcome this year. Some were wonderful and some were not so wonderful, but even though we get placed in difficult times we should Give Thanks for the love and support one has between family and friends. Which is why I chose to have Pen n' Paper Flowers "BE" print on our dessert table. By the way the golden frame and the coffee carafe were found at a thrift store. This is one of my moms and I favorite hobby.
On our dessert table we had moon cookies, pumpkin pie, pumpkin cake, glazed pears, stuffed apples, and cupcake. The beverages served were coffee and hot tea.
Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and have fun decorating in your upcoming holidays!

Construction

Under Contruction!

This year my son requested instead of a party to go to his favorite place the Lego store in Orlando, but we couldn’t go without doing at least a family gathering.
I can't believe that it has been 8 years. Where did the time go? Awe my baby boy is a BIG boy as he says.
He is very much into building so what better theme than a construction site we were lucky to be able to acquire the necessary props that would bring it all together.
I love seeing my son's face when it comes to surprises. We are grateful to still have my grandmother (his great grandma) alive. I think that this picture says a million words. The bond that these two have is AMAZING!

He was so excited. Then of course it had to do with LEGOS and Video Games. What a boy. The next face he made was towards my mom. If there was a show called  "The Silly Willies" they would be the stars of that show. When these two get together they become the most silliest people in the world. Their love is inseparable.

My daughter throughout this hole gathering was saying "let me see" and "ooh aaa". She even wanted to dress for the occasion of course her big brother was dressing up as well.

Aren't they just darling? I biest I'm the momma.

Well after we played around and took lots of pictures. My daughter went to her room and said "mami camisa" Which in her dictionary it means please help me get dressed. So she wanted ladybugs. Lady bugs it was. I smitten by my children.

For this occasion I had contacted Maureen from Anders Ruff Designs to see if there was anything that she could do for my son's birthday. When I went on to her Esty store and saw that she had a tractor invitation and thought "how cute tractors."  A great big thank you to Anders Ruff for the wonderful printable design cupcake toppers, door sign and tags. It was a pleasure working with her.

There are my two construction works.
I love idea that we were able to hang the {Men working} sign from our wall unit as well as laying the yielding sign on our table.

The goodie bags were filled with some trinkets. They had bubbles, crayons, a small note pad, and a small paddle with ball. Perfect for summer fun.

The cupcake holder was set on top of four cones with a hard hat sign, a tool belt was used for utensil holder, a dumpster truck held the goodie bags and the rest was a big load of fun with close family and friends.

These cupcakes were made by his madrina Ceci of course. They were dulce leche for the adults and chocolate chips for the kids.
Delish!

Some of our family guests.

Hope you all have enjoyed these pictures. We had a blast having everyone over. Thank you all for wishing him a Happy Birthday and making time to come over to celebrate his 8th birthday.

Stay tune as we have lots of wonderful things happening within the next couple of weeks and months. From baptisms, to baby showers, a Hawaiian party for twin girls, birthday's. and more

Hope everyone has a wonderful week.
