Samantha's Pixie Hollow Birthday Party

 Welcome to Samantha's Pixie Hollow

This post was meant be posted a very long time ago, but do to life well blogging has not been a part of this thing we call "life". Her birthday party happen in March of 2012. I'm truly happy with the way it all turned out. Seeing my daughter's face and her saying "THANK YOU MOMMY I LOVE IT!" was priceless to me.

Well here you go. Enjoy!

My daughter loves the princesses but her favorite is Tinkerbell she stays so quiet while watching her movies (If you knew Sam you would know what I mean she turned 3 going on 20 she can talk you ear off). We wanted to recreate a Pixie Hollow theme so that she could feel as if she was there.
The entrance was adorned with real tree trunks where entering guests could sign Sam’s scrapbook and pick up their wands and wings then head over to the hollow.
The girl’s table had a forest look with the tree centerpiece being the focal point each of the chairs had an organza bow with a different fairy attached except, for the birthday girl – hers had Tinkerbell. As for the boys, we created a Captain Hook table we accented their chairs with hooks, and made pirate hats for them to wear.
The children had a blast playing in the tree house and swings, afterwords they made their take home gifts the girls colored fairy pictures while the boys made foam sword it was a good time had by all.
A work bench was used to create the Pixie Hollow with all the fairies, flowers, animals, tree trunks, and of course the food and goodies. Below is a list of the extremely talented group of ladies that made my vision come full circle:

Sweet Treats by Cristy created the beautiful fairy house cake as well as the cupcakes.
Sugar fancies was a new find for us- we went to her shop and were totally amazed from the decor of their store to the incredible cake pops, apple tarts, chocolate covered Oreo, and macaroons.
– Renee from Dainty Delights created the sensational and as always astonishing cookies.
– The wonderful fairies were created by the talented Mimi cafĂ© Union.
CakesAndKids.com sells the push pop containers and they were filled with homemade guava & banana mousse.
The Purple Pug created the glittered bunting banners, lady you rock!
Tini Posh created the wonderful outfit that my little fairy wore, when she saw it she put her hand on her mouth and said oh my God (I think she liked it).
ElleBelle Couture created the beautiful headbands that my little Fairy and I wore.
incrEDlBLEtoppers made the outrageous rice paper butterfly toppers; what a talented lady I take my hat off to you.
allaprimadesigns created these wonderful fondant flowers that we placed on top of the macaroons- they were amazing.
– To finish my little fairy’s outfit this talented amazing lady created the perfect shoes, she doesn’t want to take them off! Bedazzle My Bon Bons do I need to say more, this lady’s creations will blow you away (we already ordered for my sons birthday in July).
Lynlee’s Petite Cakes also created amazing fondant butterflies.
– Jill from Peas & Thank You’s whenever I call on her all I have to say is a character or a theme and she knows right away to come up with something wonderful like the entrance sign leading to the party!
– Debra from Titi’s Tutu for creating the beautiful tulle pom poms that gave the ceiling the perfect touch.
– My future sister-in-law Elizabeth for sewing the banner.
– My MOM for being the other half of Malu Boutiques that helped me make and put together every decoration in this and every other party that we have done.

Desserts Recipes

Comstock Cake Trifle

I love having small and cozy get together. I have these wonderful tiny wine glasses and couldn't wait to use them. Honestly who doesn't like having or seeing mini desserts? They always look so darn cute! Well since my cake didn't turn out the way I had planned in my brain I figured well what else can we do?

I decided to look on Duncan Hines. They
build a simple fruit trifle in a fancy glass. Well needless to say everyone was impressed.

You will need the following.

 Ingredients

  • 1 box Duncan Hines French Vanilla cake mix
  • 1 can Comstock or Wilderness Cherry Fruit Filling
  • 1 container Cream Cheese frosting

Baking Instructions

  1. Bake the cake as directed on the box. Let it cool and crumble it into bite-sized chunks.
  2. Fill a glass with some cake, a few spoons of frosting and fruit filling.
  3. Serve and enjoy!

Have a delightful day.

Malu Boutiques Make Over

Wow it has been way........ to long. Life decided to take a few curve balls. Lots has changed in the last 2 and 1/2 years that we have been silent. Life is much different for me and in all of the craziness of something we call life I had another baby girl. Now momma of 3.

Now that we have been silent for so long we decided to redo our logo and have a relaunch of our company. Our Logo was redone by Silvia Wren Designs. Extremely happy with our NEW look. (EEK!)

With re-branding our-self we decided to redo the website, our Etsy store, blog, and so forth. Here is what (WE) will look like little by little. Super excited!

Hopefully now we can start little by little doing our tutorials, inspirational Wednesdays, and catching up on blog post that we should of shared with you all a while ago. Oh and I can't wait to share with you all where we have been featured!

Stay tune for our follow up blog post. It will be a tutorial on learning how to do these
Little Cupcake Platters.

Till then you can follow us on Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, and Instagram.

Storybook Bookmarkers

I love when our customers ask us to design something NEW and original. The baby shower theme was based on storybooks, such as Corduroy Bear, Hungry Caterpillar, Goodnight Moon, Curious George.
How cute and innovative are these favors? Afterwards like a lot of people do instead of throwing them away these favors you can reuse them.

Hope you like theme. Soon they will be available in our shop. Have you passed by our site lately? Check it out more to come. Malu Boutiques.

Operation Shower {Florida}

I know that we all live a very busy life but I would like to ask a favor of my family, friends, customers, and fans.
I am honored to be participating in Operation Shower on May 6th & 7th in Jacksonville, Florida if you are not familiar with what they do, they put together AMAZING Baby Showers in different places through out the United States for military families who are expecting a new baby.
Being an ARMY brat myself while my father was stationed in Mainz, Germany he was part of the Company A 2nd Battalion 28th Infantry 8th Division and I was born in Wiesbaden Air Force Hospital state side he was part of  Co.A 1st Battalion 503 Infantry 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) in Fort Campbell, Kentucky so this for me really is a part of who I am.

While we all sit in our comfy houses and think that life is stressful and in a lot of cases it is we sometimes don’t realize the sacrifice that these soldiers and their wives do, That they have made it their job to defend our freedom and our lives so that we can live and enjoy life here at home, so, that we can do parties and post them on the Internet, read blogs, and get ideas, that while we may be able to enjoy our pregnancies and plan baby showers these ladies are alone holding down the fort and for that deserve our loyalty, our undying gratitude and most of all our donations to show our support.

They need to that their sacrifice is appreciated.

If you would like to mail some baby goodie for me to take when I go, you can email me at Maluboutiques@yahoo.com

So please help us become a fan on facebook

You can also go to their page directly and DONATE!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you!!!

Nautical Baby Shower

Having the opportunity to design different and unique invitations is
what I enjoy most. When I first heard this theme, my brain went
into over load. I really enjoyed designing the whole event, from the
invitations to the decor. The invitation sets the style and mood for
the event and this shower was sure to be elegant.

The invitations were designed in a classic yellow and blue.

When guests arrived, they cut a string to guess what size the
Mommy's belly was. This is one of my favorite games.

This is the entrance to the shower. The parents wanted something a
little different for the favor boxes so we designed little sail boats
and they loved it! Each one was filled with white life saver mints.
Aren't they darling?

Here is an up close picture of the tables settings.
We placed a fishing net in the middle of the table as a table runner.
Tied it with jupe rope on the ends and placed shells on the top of the
fish net. The large glass vases were filled with sand and branches.
Each guest had a sail boat.

Here are a few pictures of the food display. We also filled some of
the apothecary jars with sand and shells. Apothecary jars aren't
always for candy. You can always find something to fill them with.

This was the dessert table display which included a sail boat theme
cake, cupcakes, vanilla pudding, strawberries stuffed with
cheesecakes filling, cookies, chocolate covered marshmallows, and
chocolate covered donuts. Sounds yummy right?

I love how our JELL-O sail boats came out.

Here are some of the desserts! The chocolate covered marshmallow
display we designed.

Thank you to some of our vendors.

Our banners are always different. How cute is that cake topper? It
matched perfect with the cake.
